About

A trusted local advocate when families need one most.

Alder Fiduciary Services exists to bring trust, stewardship, and steady advocacy to a season of life that often arrives without warning — and to give families the peace of mind that someone professional, local, and accountable is paying attention.

We founded Alder in the western Sierra foothills to do something we kept seeing families need and struggle to find: a calm, capable local presence to help an aging parent, an overwhelmed trustee, or a family in the middle of a hard transition.

Our work sits at the intersection of finances, care, and advocacy. We pay the bills. We sit in the hospital room. We pick up the phone when an attorney or out-of-state child needs an answer. We keep the paperwork in order. We tell the truth when something looks off.

We work in close coordination with estate planning attorneys, elder law attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, and care managers — and we stay carefully inside our lane. We are not a replacement for any of them. We are the steady local hand underneath the whole team.

What guides us

Trust, stewardship, advocacy.

Trust

We earn it slowly and protect it carefully. Every decision is written down and made for the client first.

Stewardship

We treat a client's money, home, and time the way we'd want our own parents' to be treated.

Advocacy

We speak up in hospital rooms, on conference calls, and in family meetings when someone needs a voice.

Family peace of mind

Adult children — especially those far away — should be able to sleep at night. That is the deliverable.

Professional oversight

Documented work, monthly reporting, and clean records suitable for attorneys, CPAs, and the court.

Aging support

We understand the long arc of aging — and we plan for the next step, not just the current one.

A note on licensing & scope

California licenses Professional Fiduciaries through the Professional Fiduciaries Bureau. Where that licensing applies to a given engagement, we will offer licensed Professional Fiduciary services upon completion of that licensing. Until then, our work is limited to activities permitted for non-licensed roles — most often as an agent under a durable Power of Attorney, in support of an existing trustee, or in a coordinating role behind counsel.

We do not provide legal, tax, or investment advice. Alder Life Management is a related future brand and is not currently operating.
